Your role

We are currently recruiting for a General Operative based at our Dungannon site. (Temporary, Maternity Cover 9-12 months)

The hours of work are Monday- Thursday 8am-4:30pm and Friday 8am- 3:30pm.

The rate of pay is £10.93 per hour.

Whilst providing assistance and support to farm management across a wide variety of farming activity, this General Operative role is very much a ‘first step’ in a career in agriculture. The successful candidate will ‘live’ Welfare as a Condition in all that they do. They will contribute to the efficient running of the farms and have the opportunity to learn ‘hands on’ how to handle birds safely. Simultaneously, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow and development via our bespoke Agriculture Academy. ‘Growing our own’ agriculture specialists and leaders of the future is something that is extremely important to Moy Park.

The job is performed mainly out on farms and involves carrying out a physically active role. The employee is required to operate effectively as part of a team, handling dead and live vaccines. The catching and handling of live birds features largely as part of this job, time will be spent travelling from farm to farm in a shared vehicle.

  • Previous hatchery and/or production and/or livestock and/or cleaning experience is desirable.

  • Evidence of mechanical aptitude is desirable.

  • Driving licence is essential.
